  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : This research aims to explain the reasons South Africa withdrew from the International Criminal of Court (ICC). This type of research is explanative type. The type of data used is secondary data collection from various books, internet and journals as well as information from other media. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that the reason South African countries withdraw from the ICC is due to internal factors namely South Africa prefers to advance its developing economic factors through collaboration with African Union members and the presence of activist protests coming from within South Africa. While the external factor is due to the UN Security Council’s decision-making is inseparable from the interference of Great Powers countries that are not members of the ICC but have veto-power. In addition, there was insistence from African Union member countries that had left the ICC first and ICC discrimination against South Africa.
