  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : The incident of the attempted murder of a former Russian spy in Salisbury, England on March 4 2018, has received a strong response from the British government. Through his Prime Minister Theresa May, the British government strongly accused Russia as the main responsible for the incident, based on evidence from the British investigation team that the substance used to kill Sergei Skripal has been identified as a “Novichok” poison that was developed by the Soviet Union. In response to charges brought by the British government, Russia then strongly decried the charges and asked the British government to do a joint investigation into the Salisbury incident, but the British refused the request and took action to expel Russian diplomats in Britain. The results of this study indicate the impact of the attempted murder of a former Russian spy has made relations between the United Kingdom and Russia that have long been out of harmony, becoming increasingly heated, it can be seen from how the two countries responded and established the policies after of the Salisbury incident.
