• 4. Description [Abstrak] : This study aims to determine the description of social construction in gays coming out in Samarinda. This type of research is a type of qualitative research with a case study method. Data collection methods used were interviews, observations. and determining respondents through screening subjects using the Kingsey Test. The data collection method, namely through in-depth interviews and observation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions or verification. The subjects in this study were four people, and outside the main subject also involved four informants. The results showed that all three subjects became gay because they were influenced by family factors, psychological trauma factors, and social environment factors. The three subjects have become gay who come out or open themselves to be gay to others because they have gone through five processes of coming out namely, awareness, exploration, acceptance, commitment, and integration. In reaching the integration stage of the three subjects through various life processes that can change the subject to have a new meaning in his life into a gay called social construction that is influenced by the process of externalization, objectification, and internalization. As well as factors that influence social construction factors namely, internal factors: perception, learning, emotion, and external factors: residance culture, familly, peer group.
