  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : This study aimed to examine the effect of coping strategies and health belief model on smoking behavior of early adulthood women in Samarinda City. The subjects of this study were early adult women who smoked in Samarinda City with a total sample of 100 people. This research employed quantitative research methods, measuring instruments used in this study were the scale of smoking behavior, coping strategies scale, and health belief model scale. This third scale was compiled with a Likert model and used a multiple regression analysis of its statistical calculations using the help of the SPSS computer program (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 24.0 for windows was used. The results of this study indicated that there was a significant effect between coping strategies and health belief model on smoking behavior of early adulthood women in Samarinda City with the acquisition obtained F count > F table (13.695 > 3.09), Adjusted R square = 0.220, and p = 0.000 t table = 1.984 and p = 0.000. On health belief model towards smoking behavior there was negative and significant effect with beta value = -0.359; t count = -3.991 > t table = 1.984 and p = 0.000.
