• 4. Description [Abstrak] : The population of pangolin (manis javanica) has been decreased due to illegal hunting and trade. People in Vietnam believe pangolin is benefecial to health and caused a lot of poaching in Indonesia. To avoid the threat of extinction, Ministry of Forestry of Indonesia with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam agreed to cooperate through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 27 December 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City to protected wildlife specifically pangolin. The methods used in this research is qualitative. The research showed that cooperation conducted to information exchange, law enforcement, capacity building, and public awareness raising. Also, they collaborated with several national and international organizations to executed the programs. Although it has not been the best solution, the cooperation can make positive contribution in efforts to handle illegal pangolin trade.
