Description [Abstrak] : The aim of this research was to examine in empirical way whether presence or absence of the correlation between motivation and optimism on the discipline of Al-Qur’an memorizing students in the Hizbullah Shuffah Islamic Boarding School in Samarinda. The subjects of this study were 58 students memorizing the Qur’an at the Hizbullah Shuffah Islamic Boarding School in Samarinda. The research methodology used a discipline scale, motivation scale, and optimism scale. Those scales arranged with Likert model scale and examined with the using of doubled regression analysis. The result of this research showed that there was a significant effect between motivation and optimism on discipline, the results of this research showed that there was correlation and significant between motivation and optimism on the discipline discipline of Al-Qur’an memorizing students in the Hizbullah Shuffah Islamic Boarding School in Samarinda with F = 36,630, R2 = 0.571, and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). At the motivation there is a positive and significant influence on discipline with a (β) = 0.590, and t value = 5.262, and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). At the optimism there is a positive and significant effect on discipline with a (β) = 0.232, and t value = 2.067, and p = 0.043 (p < 0.05).
