• 4. Description [Abstrak] : Need for affiliation is basic impulse to form and maintain intimate communication between individuals. Ease of communication offered by smartphones cause individuals to become dependent on a smartphone that can make people feel anxious away from your phone, or commonly referred to as nomophobia. This study aims to determine correlation between the need of affiliation and nomophobia in teenagers in Samarinda. This study consists of two variables, namely the need for affiliation and nomophobia. Data sampling have used a nomophobia and the affiliate needs scale. Male and female with ages between 15-21 years as a sample and used of 100 samples. The data analysis technique used is kendall’s tau-b. The results showed the value of r = 0.035 and the sig value. 0.624> 0.050, it means that there are no correlation between the need of affiliation and nomophobia in teenagers in Samarinda.
