• 4. Description [Abstrak] : This research method used was to find out how the description of health locus of control and Cognitive Dissonance of the smoking women with veil. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach. The respondents of this research was taken by purposive sampling with data collection methods using observation and indepth interviews to all four subjects. The results showed that all four subjects experienced cognitive dissonance. Subject LL and NA experienced four sources of cognitive dissonance which is, logical inconsistencies, cultural values, general opinions and past experiences, while subject IN and DE experienced three sources of cognitive dissonance which is, logical inconsistencies, cultural values and general opinion. Subjects IN and LL reduce their dissonance by adding cognitive elements, namely that veiled women who smoke are not always negative. They also believe that there are still many veiled women who smoke besides them. Subjects IN, LL, and NA change the element of behavior by choosing a smoking area that is not too crowded or closed. The four subjects choose friends who can accept their smoking behavior and avoid friends who have commented negatively about their smoking behavior. After cognitive dissonance takes place and internal and external health locus of control. Subjects IN, DE, and NA continued to smoke while subject LL wanted to stop smoking before she married.
