- 4. Description [Abstrak] : This research aimed to identify and explain the Cambodian government’s efforts to adress trafficking of children for sexual purposes in 2000 to 2010. This type of research was used descriptive and analytical in which the author attempted to describe clearly and systematically about the Cambodian government’s efforts to adress trafficking of children for sexual purpose in 2000 to 2010. The data presented were the secondary data obtained from books, journals, media reports, the internet and other sources related to the subject matter. Data collection techniques used were a literature review that examines the literature that has examined the relationship with the problems in the form of books, journals, mass media, internet and other sources related. Techniques of data analysis is qualitative analysis to analyze the problem then described by the existing facts and connect the facts with other facts. The results showed that the Cambodian government increase efforts to adress trafficking of children by doing more comprehensive programs. Internally, through national policy from the protocol palermo of Cambodian the government implemented a National Plan of Action (NPA) against Trafficking and Commercial Sexual Exploitation. In the National Plan of Action, government makes major work programs including prevention, protection, prosecution and policy. Then externally, the Cambodian government various international cooperation relations with Thailand government through the MoU by forming a Joint Task Force to address cross border of trafficking of children from and to Thailand and Cambodia. The cooperation with Thailand also aims to help the victims back to their home countries. Besides, the Cambodian government is also cooperating with End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes (ECPAT). ECPAT is an international Non govermental organization which has focused attention on the elimination all forms of commercial sexual exploitation of children.
