- 4. Description [Abstrak] : This study aims to explain how the Indonesian cooperation and the United States of America in the construction of a Paguat Gas Power Plant (PLTG) in Gorontalo. Paguat Gas Power Plantis the first piwer plant project that has been operating from 35.000 Mega Watt power plant construction program. In this study the authors also use qualitative research methods through the literature review method with the type of data is secondary data. The concept used is bilateral cooperation and Energy Security.
Indonesia – United State of America cooperation in the mega electricity project 35.000 Mega Watt was established through the establishment of a Power Working Group consisting of 11 agency and 52 American companies. There are 8 points of cooperation including: U.S Support, Indonesian Support, Industry Day, Experience Sharing, Focus Project, Partnership Activites, Action Plan and Participation. As for the 8 points of cooperation, one of the points implemented in the construction of the Paguat Gas Power Plant in Gorontalo is Indonesian Support which includes the delivery and application of mobile power generation technology, TM 2500+ gas aeroderivative turbines by the United States General Electric Company. The machine was dispatched using the MW FORTUNE cargo ship from the port of Antwerp in Belgium at the end of September 2015. The Antigua Barbuda-flagged ship sailed through the Suez Canal, continued through the Red Sea and finally arrived at Tomini Bay on 7 November 2015. The production process was quite fast, and convenience installation in a shorter time according to the urgent need to supply electricity. With the inclusion of the Gorontalo PLTG system, it has become the answer to the electricity needs in North Sulawesi – Gorontalo, especially Gorontalo, which is able to increase the electrification ratio to 84.40% and be able to meet electricity needs in North Sulawei through the Sulutgo 150 kV interconnection system.
