• 4. Description [Abstrak] : This study aims to determine the effect of self-adjustment and social support for stress on female prisoners of Rutan in Class II B Balikpapan City. This study uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this female prisoners were 103 people who were selected using the total sampling technique. Data collection methods used are the scale of adjustment and social support for stress. The data analysis technique uses multiple regression analysis and partial regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) there was a significant effect between adjustment and social support for stress on female prisoners of Rutan in the Class II B Balikpapan city, with the results of hypothesis testing using full model regression analysis (F count>F table)=8.108>3.933, adjusted R square (R2=0.140); and p (Sig)=(0.0011.983 and p=0.044>0.050; (3) there is influence on the variable social support for stress on female prisoners of Rutan in Class II B Balikpapan city with beta=-0.307, t count=-3,303>1,983 and p=0.001>0.050.
