• 4. Description [Abstrak] : One of the reason why the life of marriage not harmony was infidelity. Infidelity which has known by husband, wife or either may give big impact and occurs in long term because the commitment which contain trust on each other has broken. In order that the impact of infidelity not really took seriously, a forgiveness became the most important choice to deal with infidelity which done by one of mate. The aim of this study was to determine the forgiveness of a wife and the commitment of a marriage of a wife after her husband having affair. Researcher on this study used qualitative research with phenomenology approach. Purposive sampling technique was used to get corresponding subject of this research and the method of data collection which used is in-depth interview and observationrelated to four subjects of the wife who was surrounded by the husband. The first subject, H could not forgive her husband’s infidelity fully in cognitive, affective and behavioral aspect, so that the commitment after her husband having affair was less strong. The second subject, S could not forgive her husband in cognitive and affective aspect, so that the commitment after her husband having affair was less strong. The third subject, MR could forgive her husband in cognitive and behavioral aspect, so that the commitment of marriage after her husband having affair was strong. The fourth subject, NB could not forgive her husband’s infidelity in cognitive, affective and behavioral aspect, so that the commitment of marriage after her husband having affair was less strong.
