  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : In Indonesia, there are many individuals who are obese, causing them to lack self-confidence and self-esteem. This then weakens his interpersonal ability to synchronize with his environment. There are many individuals, especially men who feel dissatisfied with their body shape, doing fitness as a way to get an ideal body and physical attractiveness according to their wishes. This aims to strengthen their interpersonal abilities in interacting with their social, especially with the opposite sex. This study aims to determine the effect of ideal body image and physical attractiveness on male interpersonal abilities that exercise fitness at a fitness center. This study uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 100 member members from Nagano, Master, Brilliant and Project Fitness who were selected using simple random sampling technique. Data collection methods used are ideal body image scale, physical attractiveness and interpersonal ability. The collected data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the help of Amos software version 22 The results of this study indicate that the ideal body image with interpersonal ability shows C.R value of 2.257 ≥ 1.96 and P value of 0.024> 0.05, which means that the ideal body image has an influence on interpersonal ability. Then the physical attractiveness with interpersonal ability shows a C.R value of 1.126 ≤ 1.96 and a P value of 0.260> 0.05 which means that physical attraction has no influence on interpersonal ability.
