Description [Abstrak] : Study of social support of parents who have children suffering from cerebral palsy in north samarinda district aimed to understand about the representation of social support that give a child who is suffering from cerebral palsy. Social support itself is the availability of resources that provide physical and psychological comfort so that individuals feel loved, careth for, valued by other. This study use a qualitative approach, the respondense where taken based on purposive sampeling, namely the selection of subjects and informans in the study based on the characteristic that meet the goals that have been set. The data collection method are interviewer and observation method with four subject. The interviewer results indicated that the four subjects received positive support. IZ subject provide positive support that has self-confidence and be able to work in singing. IH subject provide positive support so that be able to be independent in some activities. IA subject provide positive support but due to the shy characteristic of child subject lack of self-confidence. ID subject provide fairly positive support, beause of the shy characteristic of the child and less active in talking make the subject’s children have low confidence and less good in socializing.
