  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : Independence had important role in development of adolescent at early age, because at that age they experienced a period of transition to adult. Adolescent that studied at Islamic boarding school did not only learn academically but they were taught how to be independent and able to self-manage their cognitive process in order to accomplish successful learning which is known as self regulated learning. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship between independence and self regulated learning in adolescent at Islamic boarding school of Al Madina. The sample used in this study amounted to 96 students by using data collection methods of Likert scale. The data collection were analyzed using product moment correlation test with Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) 20.0 for Windows 7. Based on the results, the two variables that have been analyzed with product moment correlation analysis showed that the magnitude of the relationship of independence with self regulated learning was r = 0.487 and p = 0.000, so that it showed that the results of research has a connect correlation.
