Description [Abstrak] : This article aims to describe the competition between the United States and China in the energy in Southeast Asia applying energy security concept and contructivism theory. The method used in this research is descriptive case study. For the method of collecting data is using library research and secondary data. The analitycal data method which used is qualitative analitycs. The result of this research shows that Southeast Asia with its potential energy resources can make other countries from outside the region such as the United States and China interested to be present in the region. With their powers, they wish to get the access for the energy, especially oil and gas, in the region. They try to get the access by utilizing military force, working closely with the countries in the region which is in regional cooperation way and bilateral, and placing their energy companies to invest in the upstream and downstream activities of oil and gas by collaboration (product sharing contract) scheme with national oil and gas companies from each countries in Southeast Asia. However, these similars would raise the rivalry between the two countries, the United States and China, in the region.
