• 4. Description [Abstrak] : This study describes the Habomai Islands ownership dispute between Japan and Russia that has been ongoing since the end of World War II. The purpose of this study was to analyze the response and the constraints faced by Japan in getting the Habomai islands, which until now dominated by Russia. The results of this study found that Japan is actively responding to any Russian action relating to the Habomai islands ranging from protesting against Russia either by mail or withdrawal of ambassadors to negotiate, but the Habomai islands dispute can not be resolved. This is because each country has an interest in the islands of Habomai to both Japan and Russia mutually hinder the achievement of the objectives of each country.
