- 4. Description [Abstrak] : United States’ participation in trans pacific partnership economic cooperation is one of United states’ method to achieve its interests. The aim of this research is to explain economic and political interest of United States in TPP. This problem of this research is analyzed by using the concept of power, economic liberalism and regional economic integration. The type of research that used by the author is explanatory, the data presented are secondary which obtained by library research and the data analysis technique used is qualitative. The results of this research indicated that United States’ interests are economic interests, which are: (1) Markets expansion, by opening new markets in countries which didn’t have any free trade agreement with United States before. (2) Economic recovery from the 2007 crisis which caused by subprime mortgage. And the political interests is to expand United States’ sphere of influence, especially in Asia-Pacific region by using TPP as one of United States’ policy which also known as Asia Pivot atau Rebalancing toward Asia.
