• 4. Description [Abstrak] : The success of Gojek Indonesia has emboldened Gojek company to expand its market, especially in the Asian region. The first expansion of Gojek give positive results in Vietnam in 2018 under the name Go-Viet it also happened to other country including Thailand in 2018 under the name Get!, Singapore in 2019 keep using Gojek name to operate in Singapore, Gojek also expand Philippines in 2019 despite facing obstracts regarding stock ownerships regulations in Philippines and also in late 2019 Gojek has plan to expand Malaysia, in the beginning of Gojek expansion in Malaysia, there is a chance for Gojek because Gojek has permission by Malaysian Government. there is a Gojek trial operate in Malaysia to findout market condition this trial named Proof Of Concept (POC) under Malaysian Government control. but unfortunately, suddenly Gojek expansion in Malaysia has been rejected by the government without any warn because of safety issue amongst 2 wheeled vehicle especially motorcycle. This research goals is to explain and anlyze Malaysia’s rejection of Gojek Indonesia’s business expansion in Malaysia in 2019. This study is an explanatory research. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. This research utilizes Library Research. The result of the study shows that the reason of Malaysia’s rejection of Gojek Indonesia’s business expansion in Malaysia in 2019 because of the protection of local companies by the Malaysian government, the Land Transport Act policy that obstruct Gojek, opposition from various parties in Malaysia, low safety standards and the high risk of accidents for motorcycle vehicle in Malaysia.
