• 4. Description [Abstrak] : This study intended to describe the level of Russia’s
  compliance with the INF Treaty during the third term of President
  Vladimir Putin in 2012-2018. The research method used is descriptive
  reseach and the data used is secondary data from books, articles,
  journals, theses, and official websites that discuss the INF Treaty. In
  this study the author used the concept of International Regime and
  Compliance Theory. The results of this study show that Russia’s level
  of compliance with the INF Treaty was very low during President
  Vladimir Putin’s third term in 2012-2018. Russia during 2012-2018 has
  undertaken several actions prohibited by the INF Treaty such as as
  possession of intermediate-range missiles and rejecting the United
  States offer to conduct a treaty-mandated inspection to verify
  compliance. This non-compliance was caused by Russia’s interest in
  2012-2018, namely, military superiority, challenging US dominance,
  asserting strength, and responding to threats that were no longer
  related to the INF treaty.
