    amended the Citizenship Act 1955 which was named the Citizenship
    Amendment Act 2019 (CAA 2019) which contains about illegal immigrants
    who are Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian from Afghanistan,
    Bangladesh, and Pakistan will be granted citizenship status of India. The
    Indian society then rejected the CAA 2019 because it was considered
    discriminatory against Muslims, the Indian government which should be able
    to deal with the masses more openly, in fact the Indian government prefers to
    take repressive actions to silence them. This action attracted the attention of
    Amnesty International as a human rights organization. In this case make a
    question of how Amnesty International’s response to the government’s
    repressive actions related to the rejection of the Citizenship Amendment Act
    in India in 2019. The type of research used in this study is a descriptive type
    with primary data sources in the form of a policy law on citizenship and
    secondary sources in the form of literature-literature related to this research
    topic. Then, to explain the research question, the concept of the Transnational
    Advocacy Network was used. The results of this study indicate that Amnesty
    International respond to the government’s repressive actions related to the
    refusal of the CAA 2019, that is: Conducting research and distributing
    information related to the government’s repressive actions related to the
    refusal of the CAA 2019, conducting a campaign action by inviting the wider
    community to immediately release an activist Human rights, namely Safoora
    Zargar who has been arrested under repressive laws and lastly Amnesty
    International calls for accountability to reaffirm India’s determination as a
    signatory country to the ICCPR where India is a party to respect all
    international human rights standards.
