Description [Abstrak] : Ethiopia and Eritrea are two countries in the Horn of Africa which from 1998 to 2018 did not have active diplomatic relations as a result of border conflicts invloved the two countries. After two decades, in 2018, the two countries made a peace agreement and made efforts to normalize their diplomatic relations. Efforts made by the Ethiopian and Eritrean government included ending the border conflict and normalizing diplomatic relations between the two countries, reopening embassies in each country’s national capital, withdrawing each military forces from border areas, opening Ethiopia – Eritrea border for the first time in 20 years, as well as awarded a new land in 2019 from the Government of Ethiopia to the Government of Eritrea to build a new Eritrean embassy in Ethiopia.
