• 4. Description [Abstrak] : This thesis examines the role of GIZ in facing climate change through DA-REDD+ FORCLIME in Kapuas Hulu District since the collaboration was signed, 2010 to 2020. Through the COP-13 the UNFCCC agreed on a global mechanism for reducing GHG emissions from the forestry sector, it is REDD+. The presence of REDD+ has made many member countries of UNFCCC participate in its implementation with various forms of projects, one of which is FORCLIME which is a collaborative program of the Indonesian government represented by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) and the German government by GIZ and KfW. This research uses qualitative research methods with descriptive research types. The concept used in this research is environmentalism with environmental ethics paradigm by Sony Keraf. The results of this study found that from 2010 to 2020 GIZ has played a role in implementing and supporting various collaboration programs of FORCLIME in tackling climate change in Kapuas Hulu as DA-REDD+. The role of GIZ in Kapuas Hulu is more focused on capacity building through various meetings or trainings, such us carbon inventory training, biodiversity inventory training in the National Park to entrepreneurship training.
