Description [Abstrak] : : After the financial crisis hit the country Iceland decided to submit a membership proposal to join the European Union in 2009, negotiation continued until 2010, the European Union host began to open negotiations regarding Icelandic membership in adjusting terms and laws to join the European Union. But in 2013 Iceland began to halt all negotiations and postponed proposals for accession to the European Union until 2015, Icelandia officially withdrew its membership proposal. This then raises the question why Iceland should withdraw its proposal even though the chances of Iceland being accepted into the European Union are very Large. The study uses an explanative method, which data are taken from books, Journal, websites and valid news. The author uses the concept from William D. Coplin on Decision Maker. The results of this study indicate that the reasons Iceland withdrew the European Union membership proposal was due to a change of leadership and the ruling party at the time, then the Icelandic economic condition had begun to improve so that Iceland chose to cancel the proposal.<\/strong><\/li>\n
