4. Description [Abstrak]:<\/strong> This work centers on non-state groups\u2019 actions utilizing terror tactics in Southeast Asia. These actions potentially undermine a transformative Asia that shows promise in moving forward into its political maturity and socioeconomic advancement and threaten the very basics of human security in the region. To deal with such threats or problems, one should better understand the nature of such groups\u2019 actions. In doing so, this research sheds light on their actions in three religiously distinct countries, namely Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. The main objectives of this work are twofold, namely, to better understand the origins and driving forces of these actions and the networks built by the perpetrators, and to identify the historical, structural and ideological roots of the problems. The significance of this work is, first, it can be used as an entry point to deal with the issues highlighted, second, it can promote the increased use of non-conventional approaches (nonmilitary approaches) in solving the problems, and third, it can promote religious tolerance in building a more peaceful society.<\/li>\n
