4. Description [Abstrak] : This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of film therapy in increasing empathy for students of SMP Negeri 31 Samarinda. The research method in this study used an experiment, by using a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this research was 60 students of SMP Negeri 31 Samarinda. The study design was non-randomized pre-test-posttest control group design. Statistical analysis technique was the wilcoxon test. The results showed that film therapy was effective in increasing student\u2019s empathy, it was based on the results using the wilcoxon test with p value = 0.021 in the experimental group, this indicated that p -1.96), so that the hypothesis H1 was accepted which meant the subjects who was given film therapy increased empathy. While the results in the control group with p value = 0.06, this indicated that p > 0.05 and Z value =-1.878 (<\/strong><\/li>\n
