Description [Abstrak] : Puerto Rico\u00a0is often called a\u00a0commonwealth, It\u2019s official title of the government of\u00a0Puerto Rico.The purpose of this research is to explain the Referendum and Lobby Efforts carried out by Puerto Rico to become Statehood of America 2012 until 2018. This research uses a descriptive method which data are taken from books, journals, websites, and valid news. The author uses the concept of referendum and lobby.The results of this study indicate that the efforts of Puerto Rico to become a State of the United States are carried out in two ways, namely referendum and Lobby. In the case of the Puerto Rico referendum it took several years from 1967 until 2017. The lobbying efforts carried out by Puerto Rico were to form the Puerto Rico Statehood Commission (PRSC).Then the referendum and lobbying efforts from 1967-2018 carried out by Puerto Rico could not be accepted as a statehood.<\/strong><\/li>\n
