4. Description [Abstrak] : Crimea is a city in Ukraine which is the center of pro-Russian sentiment in the country. The region is on the Black Sea Peninsula and has around 2.4 million people, mostly from Russian and Russian-speaking. The purpose of this reaseacrh is to explain the reason Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. The research method usesexplanative research type with data sources obtained from books, journals, websites and news valid. In this research the author uses concept of National Interest andAnnexation (perspective of international law). The results of this study indicate that the annexation by Russia to the Crimea is to achieve its national interests, some of Russia’s national interests, among others, the interests of protecting territorial integrity, cultural interests, military interests, and economic interests.However, the annexation that Russia has done got criticism from Ukraine and the international world, the United Nation, the European Union, and the United Stated.<\/strong><\/li>\n
