4. Description [Abstrak] : his study aimed to determined the relationship of self confidence and emotional intelligence on smoking behavior at students in SMP Negeri 40 Samarinda. This study used quantitative approach. Research subject consist of 80 students were selected using purposive sampling technique. The data collecting method used smoking behavior scale, self confidence scale, and emotional intelligence scale with likert scale model. Research data was analyzed with multiple linear regression by the program Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 20.0 for Windows. These result indicate that there is no relationship among self confidence and emotional intelligence toward smoking behavior on students at SMP Negeri 40 Samarinda with R = 0.235, Fvalue = 2.247 (Fvalue 0.05). In addition, from the result of the simple regression analisys model showed that there is no relationship between self confidence toward smoking behavior with beta = -0.013 , tvalue = -0.093 (tvalue 0.05). Then, a simple regression analisys showed that there is no relationship among emotional intelligence toward smoking behavior, with beta = -0.226; t value = -1.579 (t value 0.05).<\/strong><\/li>\n
