4. Description [Abstrak] : The influence of parenting and self concept to the social competence of adolescent who playing online games in Gamerz Samarinda Community. This study aims to analyze the impact of parenting and self-concept towards the social competency of adolescent who play online games which joined in \u2018gamerz\u2019 community in Samarinda. Social competency is an ability of an individual in taking perspective of other people in a situation and learn from past experience and apply it to the social life in order to adapt. This study is using quantitative research method. The method of collecting the data which is used is a questionnaire of Likert scale, with the amount of 152 adolescent. Data analysis used in this research is regression analysis. From the results of the study, it is discovered that there is a positive and significant correlation between parenting and self-concept towards social competency of adolescent who play online games which joined in \u2018gamerz\u2019 community in Samarinda with the score F = 120.452, R2 = 0.618, and p = 0.000.Parenting affects positively and significantly to social competency of adolescent and self-concept also affects positively and significantly to social competency of adolescent.<\/strong><\/li>\n
