Description [Abstrak] :<\/strong> The main of this study, has the goal to investigate the impact of implementation of the Lacey Act to timber commodities Indonesia exports to the U.S. market and the efforts of the Government of Indonesia to anticipate the implementation of the Lacey Act in 2008-2011. In this study, the authors used the theory of protectionism and ecolabel concept to answer the research question of the impact of the implementation of the Lacey Act Indonesian timber commodity exports to the United States as well as to know the Indonesian government’s efforts to tackle impact of Lacey Act. Results from this research that the impact effect on the implementation of the Lacey Act delays timber commodities Indonesia exports to the U.S. market and to bring positive change to forestry policy in Indonesia in order to anticipate the activities of illegal logging in Indonesia. Government efforts in anticipation of the legislation which makes the certification that emphasizes compliance regulations in the form of Timber Legality Assurance System (TLAS) and coordination with the Indonesian Ecolabelling Institute (LEI), which is a voluntary certification from the demands of the market..<\/li>\n
