Description [Abstrak] : Many illegal fishing practices that occurred in Indonesia, make the government taking firm action to enforce the law.Issue of illegal fishing in Riau Islandsprovince given impact in several sector not only in economic sector but in social, politic, and environtment, this study aims to determine the efforts of Indonesian Government in handling problems of illegal fishing in Riau Islands Province.The results of the research indicate the efforts of in handling problems of illegal fishing in province of Riau Islands Provinceby vessel monitoring system which is an international agreement for countries who managing marine fisheries, Monitoring efforts in Riau Islands Province and efforts in law enforcement. The efforts that have been made by Indonesia goverment in Riau Islands Province apparently found obstacles in implementation.<\/strong><\/li>\n
