Description [Abstrak] : The purpose of this research was to find out why the nationalization oil policy of Hugo Chavez was successful compared with the nationalization policy of Carlos Andres Perez. This was analyzed by using the concept of nationalization, the concept of economic system and the concept of multilateral cooperation. Type of research used was descriptive research. The author has used a collection of secondary data obtained from books and websites with verified sources. The results of this study indicate that the success of Chavez\u2019s nationalization was obtained, before it nationalized the Venezuelan oil industry. Chavez first examined the causes which contributed to the breakdown that occurred in the previous regime. Chavez’s nationalization policy was implemented in stages; before and during the nationalization process, firstly Chavez made some internal and external policies for Venezuela that would be factors to strengthened his policies, and avoiding Perez’s failures. In addition, the socialist economic system adopted by Ch\u00e1vez to replace Perez’s capitalist economic system, succeeded in bringing Chavez to improve the Venezuelan economy to out of economic crisis and to make it easier for the Venezuelan government to take over the assets of their country from foreign parties.<\/strong><\/li>\n
