4. Description [Abstrak] : The abolition of the carbon tax is one of the environmental policies in Australia undertaken by Tony Abbott in 2014 which has had an impact on several aspects. The purpose of this research was to determine the political and economic impact of the abolished carbon tax on Tony Abbott’s Government in 2014-2016. This research uses descriptive type of research to describe the political and economic impacts of the abolished carbon tax on Tony Abbott’s Government. The research uses secondary data obtained by library research and the data analysis technique uses is qualitative. In this research the author uses the concept of carbon tax and decision making theory to perform the analysis. The results show that internal and external factors contribute to the succcessful abolishment of the policy (carbon tax). They also have both positive and negative impacts on the political and economic aspects of Australia. The internal factors are from the insistence of Australian political parties and the public, while external factors are from foreign mining entrepreneurs in Australia. The political impacts of carbon abolition can be seen in the rise of the political party\u2019s electability prevailing at the time, implementation of new carbon-replacement policy, and international media responses. Economic impacts include savings of A$550 per household, increased energy production and consumption in Australia.\n
