4. Description [Abstrak] : Rodrigo Duterte is a president of Philippines since June 30, 2016 who was elected through Philippines\u2019s elections. In a few months as President, Rodrigo Duterte announced his policy to get closer to China and separation from the United States which was his longstanding ally. Idiosyncratic and Bilateral Relations Concept as conceptual framework are used to answer the research question. The results show that President Duterte\u2019s leadership brings a positive influence in bilateral relations between the Philippines and China. His policy to establishing good relations with China is influenced by his idiosyncratic factors namely, his values, his life experience, his talents, and his personality. It makes President Duterte rationally and courageously prefer to establish good relations between the Philippines and China in the national interest of the Philippines.<\/strong><\/li>\n
