Description [Abstrak] : Since the implementation of the Schengen agreement into the framework of the European Union in 1997, so that third countries who want to travel into the teritory of schengen countries, given acces through a schengen visa as to facilitate travel into schengen member states. The purpose of this research to explain the Indonesian government’s efforts to become Schengen member. The results of this research indicate that the Government of Indonesia is now continually strive to enter the membership of the Schengen Area. There are two Efforts made by the Indonesian government , through Presidential Regulation No. 21 of 2016, as well as diplomatic Efforts to Schengen member states and the European Commission. Currently, Indonesia has inserted itself into the list of countries proposed for review by the European Council in 2016<\/strong><\/li>\n
