Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah menurunnya semangat kerja pegawai di Kantor Camat Sangatta Selatan Kabupaten Kutai Timur. Melihat fenomena tersebut, maka penulis mencoba untuk melihat hubungan atau pengaruh motivasi kerja pegawai sebagai salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi semangat kerja pegawai. Adapun temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah pertama, motivasi kerja pegawai ternyata mempunyai pengaruh terhadap semangat kerja pegawai pada Kantor Camat Sangatta Selatan Kabupaten Kutai Timur. Kedua, besarnya pengaruh motivasi kerja pegawai terhadap semangat kerja pegawai di Kantor Camat Sangatta Selatan Kabupaten Kutai Timur adalah sebesar 10,7 %. Dengan demikian ada sekitar 89,3% dipengaruhi variabel-variabel atau faktor-faktor lain. Oleh karena itu jika ada penelit yang ingin meneliti semangat kerja pegawai di Kantor Camat Sangatta Selatan Kabupaten Kutai Timur sebaiknya menggunakan variabel lain diluar variabel motivasi kerja pegawai.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>  5.
