\nResearchers used qualitative research with phenomenological approach. Researchers using snowball sampling techniques, accumulate data methods in this study using observation and depth interviews with five subjects.
\nThe results showed that in the five subjects had a picture of social support and happiness are different. On the first subject, SH despite having a husband in this institutions she was often alone and can not accept the existence of the elderly living in social institutions. The second subject, SI often recall the past and failures in his life, makes him feel less social support and happiness of living in social institutions. The third subject, AS felt the social support and happiness as imam and mosque guards in social institutions. The fourth subject, HJ social support and happiness are perceived, make she prefers to stay in social institutions instead of back to live with his son. The fifth subject, WH social support and happiness has perceive that she can be lived with her husband in old age.
