4. Description [Abstrak] : Russian rejection is a decision taken by Russia to veto the resolutions draft of UN Security Council towards civilian conflict in Syria. The aim of this study was to explain and describe about the reason of Russian rejection towards resolutions draft of UN Security Council of Syria punishment. The type of research is an explanatory. The theory applied in this study is decision making theory and national interest concept to analyze the reasons of Russian rejection. The study found that four draft which vetoed by Russia at the UN Security Council session, are motivatied by several factors. First, Syria is a Russian ally in the Middle East since the cold war era. Second, Russia felt had a mistake for their abstained when the resolution against Libya adopted by the UN Security Council in March 2011. Third, Russia wants to protect the interest in Syria. There are three elements of the state\u2019s interest that need to protect and to maintain towards Syria, which is economic interest, political interest, and defense and security interest.<\/strong><\/li>\n
