4. Description [Abstrak]:<\/strong> The article describes the SBY-JK public policy in raising fuel price, which later affects the lives of any sections of the communities. In socio-economic field, such a policy skyrocketed the price of most commodities, and this, by all means, suffered the majority of the Indonesian people. As well, many more people are becoming more difficult to get proper education owing to higher costs in education or less income in financing it. Accordingly, frequent demonstrations were staged to demand the cancellation of the fuel price policy. In politics, the SBY-JK government popularity decreased since the implementation of the fuel price policy on October 1, 2005. \nThe introduction cash distribution scheme (Bantuan Langsung Tunai, BLT) to the poor aiming at compensating any impacts of a soaring fuel price has not been able to solve the problems. In fact, the compensation scheme created new problems due to mistarget in cash distribution. In many cases, those who were not eligible to get the BTL received the compensation, while those who truly deserved for such cash compensation did not receive the BLT. It is partly caused by inaccuraty in the registration of poor citizents by the BPS. Besides, there are apparatus in the village and district levels that used the money (BLT) to line their own pockets.<\/li>\n
