4. Description [Abstrak] :<\/strong> US foreign policy in Korean Peninsula during the reign of President Obama (2009-2012) is the most democratic foreign policy to this day. The aim of this research is to define the US foreign policies toward Korean Peninsula in 2009 until 2012, applying foreign policy concept, conflict theory and smart diplomacy\/smart power concept to analyze the US foreign policies. By now, Obama has implemented Smart Diplomacy approach as the attempt to resolve problems that arising in Korean Peninsula due to North Korea\u2019s nuclear program. The United States supports South Korea by conducted an annual joint military exercise, which aims to make North Korea find it threatening and willing to cooperate with the United States to halt its nuclear program completely. The United States also had a meeting with China regarding North Korean issues, with expectations that China would assist United States to persuade North Korea discontinue its nuclear activities. In return for China\u2019s assistance, the United States will facilitate China\u2019s trade access to enter US market<\/li>\n
