4. Description [Abstrak] : This study aims to determine the efforts made by ASEAN in overcoming the problem of piracy that occurs in the Malacca Strait, especially in the period 2015 to 2020. This study is a descriptive study with the focus of this study is how ASEAN\u2019s efforts in overcoming piracy in the Malacca Strait region in 2015-2020. The data collection technique used is data collection through literature review. The data analysis technique used in this study is quantitative analysis. This study uses the concept of regionalism to see how countries in the Southeast Asian region cooperate regarding the problem of piracy in the Malacca Strait. This study also uses Transnational Organized Crime (TOC Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) to analyze the issue of piracy as a non-traditional security threat issue, to define organized criminal groups as groups that work outside the boundaries of a nation state, interconnected and create criminal networks. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that ASEAN has made several efforts to overcome the problem of piracy in the Malacca Strait region, this is done because the threat of piracy causes losses for users of the Malacca Strait route. During the period 2015-2020 ASEAN itself has made various efforts to overcome the problem of piracy in the Malacca Strait region. With this effort, it has succeeded in reducing piracy in the region, but the threat of piracy in the region cannot be completely eliminated and ASEAN must remain vigilant against the threat of piracy in the waters of the Malacca Strait.<\/strong><\/li>\n
