Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pendekatan kualitatif yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan observasi, serta wawancara yang dilakukan terhadap beberapa informan, yaitu pihak-pihak lembaga iCare Kalimantan Timur, anak-anak asuh iCare Kalimantan Timur yang mengikuti kegiatan pengembangan kapasitas, dan instruktur pelatihan. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pengembangan kapasitas sosial yang dilakukan iCare kaltim melalui program yatim berdaya dengan melakukan pelatihan makeup artist dan pangkas rambut belum mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan yaitu memandirikan anak yatim, piatu, dan dhuafa. Usia peserta yang belum memasuki usia pekerja merupakan salah satu faktor penghambat dalam program ini.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>  5.
