4. Description [Abstrak] : This research paper is titled \u201cThe National Tourism Development Plan\u2019s (NTDP) Strategies to Boost Tourist Arrivals in Chiang Mai 2012-2022\u201d. This research aims to describe the strategies of Thailand\u2019s National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) to increase the number of tourist arrivals to Chiang Mai in 2012-2022. This research used a descriptive approach based on secondary data acquired through the use of library research technique. The accumulated data are later analyzed in reference to the concept of Nation Branding. The findings of this research indicated that Thailand\u2019s NTDP\u2019s strategies brought about an increase in tourism visits in Chiang Mai. The NTDP\u2019s strategies include: (i) to improve the infrastructure and logistics and to connect domestic and international, tourism; (ii) to rehabilitate tourism destinations to increase their potential and to accommodate for more tourist arrivals; (iii) to launch new tourism products and services and to improve the qualities of those already in existence; (iv) to inspire visitors\u2019 trust in Thailand\u2019s good image thus attracting more tourist arrivals; and (v) to boost the participations of various sectors including the public, the civilians, and the local administrative organizations in the management of the tourism sector. Although the number of tourism visits in Chiang Mai had never had any significant increase prior to the launch of NTDP, a change has started to appear afterwards where the numbers of tourist arrivals steadily grow and has continued to do so onwards, both in the local tourist category and the international tourist category. <\/strong><\/li>\n
