4. Description [Abstrak] : The existence of abundant gas reserves in the East Mediterranean region has made surrounding countries compete for these gas reserves. The discovery of gas reserves is also a serious concern. So that Egypt took the initiative to form a regional forum called The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) in 2020 which focuses on regional cooperation related to export and import of gas. In analyzing Egypt’s interests in forming the EMGF in the Eastern Mediterranean region, a geoeconomic concept is used which shows that there are several Egyptian interests in forming the EMGF, namely increasing the volume of gas exports, protecting waters in the Eastern Mediterranean region, as well as becoming a new gas market for the European Union and becoming a gas center in the region Eastern Mediterranean.<\/strong><\/li>\n
