4. Description [Abstrak] : The collapse of the general M. Siad Barre regime in Somalia in 1991 caused Somalia to experience civil war due to the seizure of territory by rebel groups. The existence of a prolonged conflict makes children involved in conflict and results in the neglect of children’s rights. Various efforts have been made to fulfill the rights of children in Somalia, one of which is ratifying the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This research aims to analyse the reason for the Somali government to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which this convention contains the rights of children that must be fulfilled by state parties. This thesis used an descriptive analytic method with primary and secondary data types. Qualitative content analysis is used to analyse the data. Decision making theory is used to answer the reasons behind the ratification of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the child by Somalia Government in 2015. The analysis figured out that there are the reasons Somalia ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child: internal and external reasons. From internal reasons, there is provisional constitution related to children’s rights. From external reasons, there are pressures of Human Rights Watch and the United Nations and the development of a positive image of Somalia Government<\/strong><\/li>\n
