Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan teknik dokumen. Data analisis menggunakan analisis kualitatif.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peran dari masyarakat dan pemerintahan kabupaten paser dalam pelestarian hutan adat yang berada di kampung muluy merupakan hutan adat yang sudah dijaga oleh masyarakat adat muluy setalah ditetapkan menjadi masyarakat adat dan hutan adat kampung muluy juga menjadi menjadi kawasan yang tidak sembarang orang yang masuk apa bila ada yang melanggar atau merusak hutan adat kampung muluy akan mendapatkan sangsi adat yang berlaku di kampung muluy.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>  5.
